CREATIVE PRODUCTIONS & PROCESSES
My ability to adapt and take on any role required of me has been a valuable asset when working with project management. I have experience in developing business, product, process, system, visual communication, and client relations. In creative productions, I have knowledge in photography, 3D/CGI, image databases, video, art, and design. I am capable of being both a specialist and a generalist thanks to the combination of my characteristics and interests. I think it makes me a valuable asset because I can bridge the gap between different teams. Although my expertise lies in creative productions and processes, I am also proficient in managing projects in other sectors.
IDEATION & INNOVATION
When it comes to project management, my superpower is my creativity. I would be surprised if anyone working in the creative field would´t defines themselves as being creative. But what I’ve come to realize is that my ideation and problem-solving skills are very rare, even compared to other creatives. Through my years of experience, I have refined my ideation skills by utilizing my curiosity, research ability, analytical capacity, creativity, diverse and cross-functional background. Not all ideas can be processed directly. For this reason I maintain an idea journal.
In my About text, I cite Steve Jobs, who once described creativity as the act of ’connecting things’. Innovation occurs when two or more areas come together. Although this quote can be applied to pretty much everything, I associate it foremost to technical development. Because systems and software development is all about making connections.
OPTIMIZING PRODUCTIONS & PROCESSES
I was in charge of constructing and enhancing production and processes in my previous position as the Head of Production at a 3D & Photography Studio. My work also included setting requirements for Image and Data Quality Services/Databases. Optimizing a production involves three key elements: streamline, security, and quality. My dislike for repetitive work has been a motivator. If there is a smarter way of doing something, I will find it. My belief is that everything that can be optimized should be optimized, whether it be with macros, scripts, applications, AI, routines, pipelines, or teamwork. I have been very successful in optimizing productions and processes.
SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
There is a saying that ’you never know until you try’, and I have tried many things. While some tasks seem effortless, others require me to work harder. I will have to say that my achievements in system and software development are one of the things that I am most proud of. A combination of technical, analytical, and creative skills has proven to be very useful in setting requirements. My experience lies in setting requirements and developing a client application for a 3D & Photography Studio workflow as well as Image and Data Quality Services/Databases. Even before AI became a reality, I thought of that client application as an AI tool. The client played a significant role in our work by finding, opening, checking, tagging, comparing, writing, and editing images and data.
DESIGN PROCESSES
In order to gain inspiration, I recently participated in design courses at Malmö University and HDK Valand/Gothenburg University. There is no other field with a better toolkit for managing creative productions and processes. Within the vast field of design, I have focused on Design Processes/Project Management, Industrial Design/Product Design, and Graphic Design/Visual Communication.
’Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. It is most useful to tackle ill-defined or unknown problems and involves five phases: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test.’ – INTERACTION DESIGN FOUNDATION
Currently I am working on one of my own designs. I designed a multifunctional piece of furniture. The design has been well received. I would have loved sharing the design. Unfortunately, it must wait due to its present classification as a trade secret. However, I will state that the design was heavily influenced by art and sculpture.
