Some time ago, I was in a traffic accident and since then, I have not been able to work. It has been a stressful time. Being somewhat of a workaholic doesn’t go well with sick leave. Given the circumstances, I decided to share an early draft of one of my design projects. Since this is a work-in-progress blog that primarily focuses on ideation and experimentation, it allows me to showcase projects that are raw and unfinished.
This project started out as an assignment in a design course at HDK-Valand last spring. The assignment was to create a hallway artefact. These two slides were part of my presentation during my examination. The design came to me during a word association brainstorming ideation process. Although the idea came to me quickly, it was based on years of research from various art and interior design projects.
English translation of Slide1: Moodboard – 1. (What do you) want to come home to, 2. Swedish pun for art gallery=hallway, 3. Window facing nature, 4. Photographic sculpture, 5. Smart storage, 6. Custom storage, 7. My friend Hanna
English translation of Slide 2: Frame-Cabinet
These two slides are just a fragment of the whole. The project has evolved since the initial draft. Going forward, I will focus on design variations, art content, materials, design details, visualization, function and testing.
FYI: blog posts related to crafts, design, or assignments in creative production will be relocated to another blog at a later time. Essentially, posts that are not classified as fine art will be removed from the ‘Fine Arts’ tab. The ‘Commissions’ tab will be the destination for any creative production or process that is user-oriented or has a specific function.
